In a previous article, I have introduced my research project about the Social Network Analysis of a Public Debate in Slovakia. Here, I would like to introduce the results of the analysis.
The combination of the edges from 2 biggest Facebook groups from both sides created a social network of interactions.
CLUSTERING COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS
The visual analysis shows, that both sides are primarily active within their groups. There are connections between these two groups, but they are in the majority of cases a result of user activities and are much less frequent. The clustering coefficient analysis shows that supporters are more clustered around a few nodes, but the difference is not very big.
Accordingly, it is possible to see that the public debate about the referendum was more frequent and more common inside these groups, not between them. However, the method can be used to determine the unifying factors between two opinion groups.
